A twin engine Piper Commanche plane, on a flight from Anchorage, Alaska to Oslo,
Norway crashed in the Yukon after having engine trouble. The disappearance of the
plane caused the widest Alaskan & Yukon search until that time & after 18 days, the
pilot T. Tjonveidt & the navigator E.S.Pederson were found alive but injured. Only 6
covers, prepared by the addressee, were carried by the pilot to Inuvik & cancelled there
on October 27, 1967. No special crash cachet was applied, but both the pilot &
navigator autographed the cover. Very rare item. great exhibit piece for the Centennial
